Project Closeout: What to Expect

The final weeks leading up to your project turnover are the most emotional part of the building project! As the turnover date nears, anticipation builds for both the project team and the owner. 

Finmark recognizes this, and that’s why we have developed and perfected our processes to ease the owner’s transition into their new home. We make sure the punch list is complete, ensure the final touches are completed, and provide our client with an informative operational training experience before they move in. 

Below are some key highlights of our close-out process:

  • Quality Assurance Review: Finmark conducts a room-by-room quality assurance inspection guided by a comprehensive checklist to ensure accuracy and scope fulfillment.
  • Operation & Maintenance Guidebook: Finmark provides owners with a digital and hard copy document detailing materials, selections, and equipment operation and maintenance information for your home. During the project turnover walkthrough, Finmark personnel walk through the house with the owner and demonstrate how to maintain and operate the home's essential functions and features.
  • Owner Punchlist: During the project turnover walkthrough, Finmark makes detailed notes of any items that need to be addressed. 
  • Buildertrend Access: Finmark maintains Buildertrend access for the owner for 1 year post-construction for initiating warranty claims, reviewing project documentation, and accessing selection information.
  • Matterport 3D Scan:  When Finmark completes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing on the house, we perform a 3D scan of the building before insulation to document the location of pipes, wires, and ductwork.  We keep this scan in our archives for one year in case the homeowner needs to know where to have that new mirror installed!
